The 2025 Summer Library Program is packed with fun—from reading challenges and magic shows to animal encounters and creative sessions. The whole family will love spending time at the library this summer!
When does the program start?
The Summer Library Program starts on different dates at different libraries, but most begin in early June and go through late July or early August. Follow your library on social media, check their website, or ask next time you’re there. Find your library.

Reading challenges for all!
Every library offers an exciting reading challenge for kids, teens, and adults to encourage everyone to dive into the pages of books all summer long.
When you sign up for Summer Library Program, you’ll get information on the reading challenge and everything happening at your library this summer. Check out the Systemwide Event Calendar featuring all 24 member libraries’ events!
Adventure, animals & amazement!
Meet a snake. Make some magic. Marvel at science.
Professional performers, from magicians to animal ambassadors, are coming to your public library this summer to make learning fun. Libraries offer summer programs for children and teens. Check with your library about their summer offerings.
And dragons, too!
Don’t forget to join the free Journey of Dragons: A Library Challenge for a chance to win prizes!
Visit libraries within the four great realms of Bridges Library System, gather letters and stamps, then piece together passwords to unlock the magic the dragons left behind.
A challenge for all ages running June 2 – August 29, 2025!
