Library Legislative Day

Bridges Library System staff, member library staff, and library trustees had a wonderful day attending Library Legislative Day at the capitol in Madison on February 6, 2024. We are fortunate to have such engaged individuals in our library system! The event provided a great opportunity to express our appreciation to legislators and their staff for their ongoing support. We were also able to further engage and advocate by sharing stories that highlight the vital role of libraries in our communities.

Reach out to your elected officials.

  1. Write an email or a letter to send to your legislator.
  2. Find the contact information for the elected official(s) you want to send it to.
We suggest sending one to your state senator, state representative, mayor, and/or alderpersons.
  3. Write a few sentences about why you’re thankful for your library.
  4. Include your name, address, and home library so your official knows who it’s from.
  5. Send your letter or email to your elected officials.
