The Bridges Library System (formerly the Waukesha County Federated Library System) has a strong tradition of supporting youth services in our libraries. Youth services is a priority in our libraries and a priority for us! The library system has been offering summer library program grants to its member libraries for a number of years to help with the cost of bringing in children’s performers, purchasing reading logs, incentives and the like. Since 2014, member libraries have been encouraged to request reimbursement for early literacy initiatives to fund ideas like providing a book bag at sign up for the 1000 Books before Kindergarten program, developing an early literacy area in the library, or purchasing a tablet to use in storytime. Beginning in 2016, these two grant programs will be combined and the purpose broadened and funds will be available as non-competitive grants. Applicants will be asked to fill out a brief application for funding approval and submit a final evaluation.
Download the 2016 Youth Services Mini-Grant Application [.doc]. This is a Word Document so you may type directly into the application. There is no page limit; however, keep it brief! [form updated 3.25.16]
The final evaluation form can be downloaded here. Submit electronically or through van delivery.
