Make Some Noise for Summer Reading Program

Childrens FB_2

Grab your guitar, a drum, and your library books. It’s going to be a rocking summer at your public library! Each library in Jefferson and Waukesha counties is going all-out this summer to offer fun, games, prizes, and performers to keep you, your kids, and your teens reading during the hottest months of the year.

Did you know that kids can lose 2 months of reading and math skills during the summer break? Over time, this can add up. But the library has a solution. Reading builds vocabulary, critical thinking skills, and comprehension; in addition, libraries offer programs that build science and math skills, and inspire kids’ creativity.

Here’s a few things you might see this summer at your library:

  • Bubbling potions at a Mad Science show
  • Lizards and owls
  • Hand drumming concerts
  • Food challenges

And you could win coupons from these awesome local sponsors:

  • Madison Children’s Museum
  • Milwaukee County Zoo
  • SkyZone
  • Chipotle
  • Pizza Hut….and the list goes on!
